Holydays at last. On Tuesday we made a trip to the Wendelstein. From Brannenburg with the cog railway in approx. 30 minutes to the top.

The little church is considered to be Germany's highest one. Higher is the observatory. It can be reached by the "Gipfelweg"

The entire peak of the Wendelstein is criss-crossed with a cave system. First it goes down stairs by 82 steps to the so called "Cold-Trap" and the impressive "Cave Cathedral".

From the other side you can reach the Wendelstein by a cable car within 7 Minutes from Osterhofen-Bayrischzell.

Preparations for the winter are to be seen everywhere. By helicopter, the necessary materials for the ski lifts are brought up.

We enjoyed the beautiful view, the cave and the cheeky jackdaws. As the platform slowly began to fill with crowds, we went back with the cog railway to the valley and the Alpine foothills home. A beautiful day went so to the end.
